LAGUNA PHUKET

The Laguna Phuket complex of five hotels is one of the most notable, and famous, resorts on Phuket. It has won numerous international awards, particularly for environmentally friendly development, for before the developers arrived this was a wasteland devastated by years of destructive tin mining.

Laguna claims their integrated concept - guests from the five resorts can enjoy all facilities in all resorts, and even sign all payments back to their own rooms – is a first in Asia. Certainly a guest in any one of these resorts gains access to a far greater range of activities, restaurants and locations than is available in any other, single resort.

One of the outstanding features here is the network of lagoons that reaches each resort, allowing water transport throughout the entire complex. A free ferry service shuttles back and forth, and even outside visitors can jump aboard for a look through this unique place. And the five establishments here have a huge amount of space, most of it green or sand. Lining the back is the Banyan Tree golf course, while along the entire front is the beautiful vista of a five-kilometre long beach and the Andaman Sea.

Other Bang Tao accommodation

In addition to the above resorts, one other fine resort and three sets of bungalows are found on Bang Tao Beach, all to the south of Laguna. The resort is Rydges Royal Park Beach Resort, a four-star, low-rise establishment which also has the luxury of wide, park-like grounds, making it ideal for families. Children love the wide open spaces leading directly from the rooms to the beach.

Bungalows at the South End

Further south again are three sets of bungalows set in the shade of dense trees by the beach. This entire area is particularly spacious and quiet, with a small fishing village a little further down the beach.
