The opening of the new Waterfront Suites Phuket by Centara has recently been announced by Centara Hotels & Resorts, offering a total of 39 serviced flats within the 20-storey tower facing the ocean at Phuket’s Karon Beach. The residential complex is part of Centara’s Residences and Suites brand, which has only recently emerged on the market and is aimed at tourists choosing a self-catering holiday.

Gerd Steeb, President of Centara Hotels & Resorts, said as part of the announcement that “this will be our seventh property in Phuket and we believe that the Waterfront Suites will offer an excellent and attractive alternative for our clients, particularly families, to our other properties, all of which are resort hotels.” The flats will count one- and two-bedroom suites, all equipped with a living room, a large dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen. Additionally, each suite will offer a panoramic view over Karon Beach from the living room and master bedroom, both of which will also benefit from large sea-facing balconies where guests will be able to dine and from which they will be able to admire the sunset over the Andaman Sea. The two-bedroom suites will also have a third balcony providing a perspective over the forest-filled hills behind Karon.

All of the flats will come equipped with a microwave oven, a toaster, an electric water jug, a TV with satellite channels, as well as wireless Internet connections and an IDD telephone. There will also be daily room service. The 17 one-bedroom flats included in the complex will have a surface area of 103 square metres and will contain two twin beds and one sofa bed, plus a dining area with six to eight seats. The other 22 suites, having two bedrooms, will provide 167 square metres of surface area and will contain two full-size beds and a king-size one. The dining area will have eight to ten seats.

Furthermore, the Waterfront Suites complex will also provide a large swimming pool with a kids’ pool and a jacuzzi, a full-size doubles tennis court with floodlights, a squash court, sauna rooms and a games room containing a full-size pool table, dartboards and table tennis tables. Rackets for the tennis court will be provided by the complex. The reception desk will remain open 24 hours a day in high season – between the 15th of October and the 15th of April – with staff available to arrange tours, car hires and airport transfers, while also providing tips regarding local entertainment and sights. The security guards and engineering staff for the tower will be on call  24 hours a day, with surveillance cameras installed at key locations.

However, the building will not benefit from an own restaurant, although local diners will be readily available outside the tower, as well as at Centara’s two other resort hotels at Karon beach, offering plenty of dining options to the guests.
