Loch Palm Country Club
Loch Palm
- A Lakes and Hills Course
Designed by Thailand’s foremost golf architect, Dr.
Sukitti Klangvisai, the course was completely modernised in 1998, and calls
for great accuracy, particularly on dogleg holes around the lakes.
Whether you walk or ride, the course is an enjoyable
test of golfing skills. During the remodelling, some greens were lowered
making for more inviting landing areas, all were re-grassed and the putting
is true. But you will have to hit most of your tee shots long and straight.
The par-3 12th is only 161 yards, but the tricky
green is high up a hill and protected by two big bunkers, a daunting hole
for everyone except those who can deliver beautifully ripe ball flight. The
15th used to be a par-5 with at least two blind shots. It has been shortened
to a par-4, but can still scare the wits out of most golfers. A great drive
still leaves you with a 175-yard approach to a small green on top of a
hillock. The 18th is a score crunching par-5 that requires an accurate drive
and second shot to keep out of hazards on the left and right. |
