19 new mountain-view suites, along with a pool, gym and restaurant have been opened on the 1st of August in the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas in Thailand, which covers a 26-hectare area. The new additions represent a standalone complex with mountain views in an area of the property complete with a 25-metre pool, a pool bar, a gym and an all-day restaurant named Panache.
The new suites are in line with the Outrigger Laguna Phuket specific of spaciousness, with first-floor one-bedroom suites offering a stunning 90 square metres of space. Two-bedroom duplex suites come in at 150 square metres, while the rooftop three-bedroom penthouse apartment with individual rooftop pool offers a good 550 square metres of personal freedom. Furthermore, each suite comes equipped with its own living room, open plan fully-equipped kitchen and private balcony, while the three-bedroom penthouse on the rooftop provides an en-suite bathroom for each of the guest rooms. The rooftop pool and barbecue deck provide a superb view of the spectacular landscape of Phuket’s countryside and mountainous areas.
According to Darren Shaw, the property’s general manager, “the new suites are designed for couples, family and groups counting between two and nine people who appreciate a convenient, peaceful, five-star service and stay. Furthermore, our guests only need to say a word and they will be provided with instant, free transfers to the luxury Layan beach or to any food, beverage, spa and golf service in the adjacent Laguna Phuket resort.”
The new Panache restaurant will also provide Outrigger’s suite complex clients with a complete range of buffet, a la carte and poolside al fresco dining options, all prepared by and under the supervision of Austrian chef Robert Czechka, who has spent the last six years gaining executive chef experience in Thailand, China, Vietnam and Malaysia. The menu is set to satisfy many of the Asian and Western clients’ needs and tastes, containing, among others, Hokkien noodles, Australian stakes, Mediterranean salads and Thai spice. Additionally, the fully equipped pool-view gym will provide guests with complete work-outs to shed any additional pounds they might gain. The resort’s reception desk is located within the suite zone, making it very easy for guests to take advantage of the Yiam Sian guest services such as babysitting, tours and golf.
The new suites add to the establishment’s already existing 68 two-, three- and four-bedroom villas that have gained highly positive reviews from groups and families on TripAdvisor. They represent part of Outrigger’s expansion strategy in Asia Pacific, with the investor currently running properties in Phuket and Koh Samui in Thailand, Bali in Indonesia, Fiji in the Pacific and Queensland – with three destinations – in Australia. Upcoming projects have already been confirmed in Bali, Vietnam and Hainan, China.
A “Stay Three Nights, Pay Two” opening promotion is being offered for Outrigger’s Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas complex, providing the Best Available Rates on the new suite complex. The prices start from THB3,800 (US$127) per night for the one-bedroom suites and go up to THB4,600 (US$153) for the two-bedroom suites. An 18.7% service charge and government charge are to be added to the rates. The promotion will remain valid until the 31st of October 2011 and more information can be obtained at laguna@outrigger.co.th.
